Daniel Japi Mazwi
Daniel Japi Mazwi is a Zimbabwean-born British writer and mental health professional.
He was born in Gwanda, Zimbabwe, and trained as a secondary school teacher at Gweru Teachers’ College before spending ten years teaching at Lobengula Secondary School in Bulawayo.
In 1998, Daniel relocated to the United Kingdom, where he pursued further studies and a career in healthcare.
He holds a Diploma of Higher Education in Mental Health Nursing from Middlesex University, London, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Bournemouth University, awarded in 2005.
Daniel currently works as an independent freelance Non-Medical Prescriber, specialising in drug and alcohol services across the UK.
He lives in Bournemouth, Dorset, with his family.
Blending his background in education, mental health, and cross-cultural experience, Daniel’s writing explores themes of identity, trauma, resilience, and the enduring search for belonging, reflecting both his Zimbabwean roots and his life in Britain.
